Iva Petkova is a senior expert in the deployment of EU-backed financial instruments in Bulgaria, with over 17 years of hands-on experience in Cohesion Policy investments. As part of Fund FLAG since its establishment, she has been closely involved in shaping and implementing flagship initiatives, including the JESSICA Urban Development Fund for Sofia and the Sustainable Cities Fund, supporting urban transformation in Sofia and Southern Bulgaria. Since 2024, she has served as Director of “Development, Green Financing and Communications” at Fund FLAG, a department created as an institutional advancement following the FLAG-FICET project. In this role, she leads the design of innovative financial instruments and solutions for clean energy and energy efficiency investments. Alongside her professional work, she is also a part-time lecturer at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” on financial instruments under EU shared management.
