About
Joana coordinates the EU Projects Unit at ADENE, the Portuguese National Energy Agency. She is an energy expert with 20 years of experience in international and European cooperation projects focused on energy efficiency, buildings, renewable technologies, energy empowerment, and behaviour change. Her academic background includes a degree in Environmental Engineering, master’s studies in engineering and technology management and in Sustainable Energy Systems, and more recent specialisation in public policy evaluation. In recent years, she has worked extensively on heating and cooling through several EU projects, including Label Pack A+, Front RHC, HARP, and REDI4HEAT, and currently coordinates the LIFE project Plan4COLD, which focuses on developing local heating and cooling plans in Southern European cities.
