Richard is vice president of brand, communications and public affairs at thermondo, where he leads brand development and engagement with key stakeholders across politics, media and the energy sector. Prior to joining thermondo, he was managing the German Business of a US venture builder. Before that, he spent more than six years at FGS Global, advising the executive management of publicly listed companies on capital markets and strategic communications. He holds a PhD in Literature and Philosophy from Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen.

thermondo is a leading enabler of the energy transition for existing single- and two-family homes in Germany. Founded in Berlin in 2013 as a digital heating installer, the company now employs over 1,200 people, including more than 600 in-house craftsmen. With more than 55,000 installed systems, including over 14,000 heat pumps, thermondo is Germany’s leading heat pump installer and one of the country’s largest cleantech platforms. Through proprietary software, standardized processes and integrated financing, thermondo makes climate-neutral living accessible, affordable and reliable. Its services cover consulting, funding, financing, installation and maintenance of heat pumps, PV systems and related technologies. By the end of 2025, thermondo’s installations will have saved more than 2.5 million tonnes of CO₂.
